The 2025 Lexus GX 550 began a big process of overhauling the complete body-on-frame a few years ago, which has already resulted in an updated version of the Land Cruiser, LX, Tundra, Sequoia, and so on. It’s now time for the mid-size lineup. Finally, we anticipate the forthcoming generation of GX, which will most likely be the final. It is out of date in so many ways all we are confident that the novelties will be considerable. This includes all components of the vehicle, such as the new platform, new powerplant, interior design, aesthetics, and so on.
2025 Lexus GX 550 Redesign
As previously stated, the next generation is currently in development and will most likely debut as the Lexus GX 550 in 2025. Currently, the company is trying to keep most of the details under wraps. However, some of the characteristics of this luxury SUV are quite predictable. Of course, one of the first things that comes to mind is the platform. This model, like the rest of the BoF series, will use the new TNGA-F platform, which is slightly smaller than the LX. Even so, the advantages should be the same, starting with improved ride quality.
The new platform will also allow the introduction of new technologies, such as advanced driver assistance functions and hybrid powertrains. We also anticipate new, more customized suspension settings. Some sites are also speculating about the possibility of an optional air suspension.
Lexus GX 550 Interior
As a result, we anticipate significant progress in the 2025 Lexus GX 550. The new model should include better materials and a more attractive appearance. Of course, we anticipate that a range of cutting-edge technological elements will have a significant impact on the overall impression of luxury. The previous generation had three rows of seats as standard, but the final row is not very spacious. In comparison, the cargo area is typical of the segment. Therefore, we anticipate that the new model will not make any significant modifications in this regard.

2025 Lexus GX 550 Engine
The next generation will be very different. We expect it to have a hybrid powertrain. The Lexus GX 550 uses a vintage V8 engine that sounds good but isn’t very powerful. Given the numerification, we’d expect less power than the full-size LX. As a consequence, we believe that the upcoming hybrid will be built around a 2.4-liter turbo-four. The system should be identical to the one showcased on the 2019 Tacoma, with 326 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque. Power and torque figures are likely to increase in this case. In addition to the hybrid powertrain, a 3.4-liter V6 turbo engine will also be available. It will use the same engine as the conventional Tundra, with a maximum output of 349 horsepower. Not only was it underpowered by modern standards, but it was also quite thirsty.
